What is a visa?
This qualification is required for foreigners to reside and carry out activities in Japan. Among these statuses of residence, the "Specified Skilled Worker Visa" allows foreigners with certain skills to work in fields where there is a shortage of human resources.

Characteristics of specific skill visa
- There are two types of specific skills: No. 1 and No. 2.
- Passing the exam is a requirement for acquisition. No academic background required.
- Passing an exam in each field is required.
- Employment type is direct employment by the company (dispatch is possible only in two fields: agriculture and fishing)

The path from international students to specified skills The residence status of international students is ``Student,'' but in order to work in Japan, they must change their status to one that allows them to work, such as a specified skills visa. In order to switch from an international student visa to a specific skill visa, the following procedures are required.
- STEP ❶Pass the skill test for the industry you want to work in.
- STEP ❷Pass the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (N4 or higher) or the Japan Foundation Japanese Language Basic Test (A2 or higher).
- STEP ❸Take a company employment exam.
- STEP ❹Sign an employment contract for specific skills.
- STEP ❺Apply to the Immigration Bureau for permission to change your status of residence.
